Not fraud BY, but AGAINST voters! #163 –R. M. Shelby, 8-24-12. [373 txt wds]

The following link will bring you to Steven Rosenfeld’s trenchant article titled: “Going Undercover at the GOP’s Voter Vigilante Project to Disrupt the Nov. Election.” (Shades of Florida in 2000!!)

I employ “the Principle of Fair Use” widespread among poets and others, to quote Rosenfeld’s closing paragraph, entirely:

“What we know is that there is an ascendant nationwide right-wing movement to police American elections. We know that movement is turning to dishonest public intellectuals to educate its ranks. We know the focus is much bigger than new voter ID laws, and that True the Vote may or may not disrupt polling place voting this fall. We also know that after November they will be around to share their “lessons” from the voting wars and push solutions. We might hope that they will be honest about the true scope and scale of voting problems that inevitably will surface, especially as they delve into the details of running elections. However, that’s probably naïve.”

What we also know is that there is extremely little fraud by voters happening in our elections at any level anywhere in the country, but that wholesale, systematic fraud against voters has taken place in the past and is being urged by right-wing groups upon the coming elections and into the future. The most prominent of the dishonest intellectuals unnamed in the paragraph quoted above is John Fund, of the Wall Street Journal. Fund is one of the right-wing’s self-cynical sell-outs who actually knows the real facts but readily ignores them to serve the agenda of those he hopes to be counted among and keep gaining from, financially. (I have despised John Fund for decades as worth only contempt from honest, fair-minded people. This speaks volumes also against WSJ and the GOP. I’ll barely mention white-haired “Uncle Tom” Sowell, of whom we are long apprised.)

“True the Vote” actually means, “Screw the Voters” over into Republican hands. This bunch of true-believing, Tea Party-emotioned activists has the starry glitter in their eyes of dwellers today in a tomorrow of Yesterdays. May there be a Heaven to help us after their will has been done upon us. It will be a long while before things get good again, but if Romney wins, things will get much worse.
